Nutella® filled Vetkoek
INGREDIENTS Makes 10

420g All Purpose Flour

250ml Luke Warm Water

1.5 Tablespoons Sugar

5g Active Dry Yeast
-
1 teaspoons Salt
-
Oil For Deep Frying
-
120g Nutella®
-
*Icing Sugar & Cocoa for dusting
To prepare this delicious recipe, 15g of Nutella® per person is enough to enjoy!
METHOD

In a bowl, mix lukewarm water, sugar and yeast until combined. Let the mixture stand for about 7 minutes.

Add the flour and salt into the bowl and knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth. Cover the bowl and set aside for an hour, or until double in size.

Preheat oil on the stove over medium heat until hot. Take a tablespoon of the dough and roll into balls.

Fry the dough in the hot oil until golden brown and cooked through – it takes about 3 minutes.

Drain on paper towel to get rid of excess oil, set aside to cool on a wire rack.

Transfer the Nutella® into a small piping bag.

Cut a hole in each cooled vetkoek and roughly hollow out some space in the centre.

Pipe the Nutella® into each vetkoek, dust with icing sugar and cocoa and serve with fresh fruit.
