Holiday Note Cookies by Nutella®

INGREDIENTS FOR 20 SANDWICH COOKIES

  • 1/3 cup (80 g) sugar

  • 2 3/4 cup (350 g) flour

  • 1 egg

  • 1 vanilla bean or 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • a pinch of salt

  • 3 tbsp. water

  • 3/4 cup (175 g) butter

  • 1 tbsp. of Nutella® per cookie

How to make Holiday Note Cookies

  1. Step 1

    In a large bowl, mix together flour, butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, water and salt. Blend briefly until all the ingredients are combined. Roll the mixture into a ball and let the dough rest in the fridge for 1 hour.

  2. Step 2

    After 1 hour, take the dough out of the fridge. Place half the dough between two pieces of parchment paper and roll it out to a thickness of roughly 3mm. Repeat with the other half. Let both sheets of dough rest in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours.

  3. Step 3

    Preheat the oven to 350°F. Remove the two sheets of dough from the fridge. Using a larger diameter round cookie cutter, cut out biscuit shapes to form the cookie bases and tops. Then, using smaller musical notes cutters, cut a shape out of the middle of each top biscuit.

  4. Step 4

    Bake on the middle shelf of the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes. Take them out of the oven and leave to cool.

  5. Step 5

    Spread Nutella® on the bottom layers , then cover with the top biscuits. Enjoy!
