Halloween Cookies with Nutella®

INGREDIENTS FOR 12 COOKIES (2 COOKIES PER SERVING)

For the cookie dough:
  • 100g soft butter

  • 150g sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 250g pastry flour

  • 3 tbsp wheat flour (for flouring the worktop)

For the topping:
  • 180g Nutella® (15g/ one heaped teaspoon per serving)

To prepare this delicious recipe, 15g of Nutella® per person is enough to enjoy!

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the Dough

    In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar together until creamy and smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well. Gradually add the flour and work it into a dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave it to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  2. Process the Dough

    Spread some flour on the work surface. Place the dough on top and roll out to approx. 5 mm thickness. Cut out the cookies with a round cutter and use a knife to cut the circle into two ghost-shaped halves.  Roll out the dough again and continue the process until it is all used up. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Use a knife or cutter to cut eyes and a mouth into half of the cookies.

  3. Bake the Cookies

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (conventional) or 180°C (fan oven). Bake the Halloween cookies for approx. 10 minutes. Leave the cookies to cool completely on the tray.

  4. Assemble

    Turn half of the cooled cookies over and spread 7g of Nutella® on each cookie. Place the remaining cookies with the cut-outs on top and press down lightly.
