Appam with Nutella®

INGREDIENTS 10 Appams (2 per portion)

  • 55g Flattened rice

  • 24g Grated coconut

  • 240g Water

  • 5g Salt

  • 5g Oil

  • 75g Nutella®

To prepare this delicious recipe, 15g of Nutella® per person is enough to enjoy!

PREPARATION

  1. Wash and soak rice for 4 hrs, then wash and soak flattened rice for 45 mins.

  2. Drain the water and grind the rice along with the flattened rice and coconut to a smooth batter.

  3. Ferment for 12 hrs. The ferment batter will have many tiny air-pockets. Add salt.

  4. Heat an appam pan. Drizzle some oil. Reduce the heat. Spread a ladle full of the batter into the hot pan. Make a round circle with thin edges and soft centre. Cover the pan.

  5. Serve with a dollop of Nutella® 15g per portion. Add some chopped nuts to it to make a delicious breakfast.
